Working with clients to see new possibilities in the landscape, then turning these ideas into reality, is the heart of Civitano’s work. “Westchester is filled with landscaping challenges,” says Vincent Civitano, owner of Civitano Landscaping. “This project in Irvington gave us a real opportunity to be creative, taking a yard with great lines, but which was not very functional, and turning it into a thing of beauty.

A sloping front yard made much of the space unuseable; and the stepped approach to the front door was unstable and awkward.

We went to work building a stone retaining wall and a masonry tiered stairway; then we replaced the difficult grass slope with landscaping and plantings.
